The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player by name in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, he concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
