A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging year, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is his first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

The win also indicates he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

His retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet defended four early break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
